A lantern that sits with you.

Qandil is the quiet glass lantern in Sakinah. It has no face and it never keeps a tally. You will find it on Home, in duʿā, and in reflection — a small light that warms when you have been with your worship. It is presence, not a rank.

A short dhikr, Allahu, sits with this page the first time you visit. It is not Qur'an recitation. Silence it whenever you like.

This hour, in your country, and in Makkah.

Next prayer follows the place you choose. Times are calculated on this page with the same library as the app. Confirm with your masjid.

Location, if you allow it, stays on this device and only picks the nearest city in the list.

Built for a full day of worship — not just one habit.

The same calm tools you use on the phone: from Maghrib countdown to reciters, duʿā, reflection, and gentle encouragement from friends.

Qibla

Point toward Makkah with the compass when you need a quiet, reliable direction — indoors or on the go.

Qur'an reader & listen

All 114 surahs with clear Arabic text, translation layers, bookmarks, and eighteen reciters so you can read or listen in the same flow. Alafasy and As-Sudais are included.

Reflect & journal

Private reflection with a calm writing space. Your notes stay yours — optional sync only when you sign in.

Companion

Typed chat and spoken Talk when you want gentle, faith-aware company — without replacing real community or scholars.

Friends

Opt-in handles, a quiet circle feed, cheers, and stories — encouragement without the noise of a public social network.

Learn

Guides for salah, wudu, pillars, and courses you can take at your own pace — with progress you can return to.

Your data, respected

No data brokers, no behavioural ad targeting. Sign-in is optional for core worship tools; cloud sync is only for what you choose to restore.

Most apps follow the 15-line Madani page. If you memorise from the 13-line mushaf, Quran.re keeps that same copy, so a ḥāfiẓ sees the page they already know. Find the lesson without Arabic numerals, repeat the next passage, and mark the lines you keep missing. Memorisation tools include an adapted ten-variant method (7+3). iPhone · Android

A few quiet answers.

When can I download it?

iPhone is on the App Store now. Android is next on Google Play. Leave your email if you want a note when Play opens, or email support@sakinah.app.

Is it free?

Core worship tools are free: prayer, qibla, Qur'an, and reflection. Plus, Family, and Complete are optional. On iPhone you pay through Apple. On Android you will pay through Google Play. On the web you pay through Stripe. Ten percent of profits go to charity.

Will you sell my email?

No. If you leave an email, we only write about the Play launch. We do not sell data. Free-tier banners on Learn, Community, and Travel are non-personalised — never on Prayer, Qur'an, Reflect, or Qibla. Read the Privacy Policy anytime.

iOS and Android?

iPhone is live on the App Store. Google Play is next. One email covers the Play launch. Help for either platform is on Support.

Who publishes Sakinah?

Prolific Digital Tech Ltd, registered in England and Wales (17362828). Full company details are on About.

How do I get help or delete my account?

Email support@sakinah.app, or open Support. To delete a signed-in account: Profile → Delete account.

Does this site play recitation?

No. Qur'an audio stays in the app, next to the page you are reading. A short dhikr may begin the first time you visit; it is not recitation. Silence it from the lantern, and it will stay off.

Which reciters are in the app?

Eighteen voices, including Alafasy and As-Sudais on Core. Others such as Al-Husary, Al-Minshawi, Abdul Basit, Al-Muaiqly, Ad-Dussary, and Ash-Shuraim open with credits or Plus. Listening stays next to the Qur'an page in the app.

Are there duʿā and Names?

Yes. A duʿā library by mood, morning and evening adhkār, and the ninety-nine Names of Allah. A few are on this page so you can see the tone. The full rooms are in the app, with Qandil sitting beside them.

How do you calculate prayer times?

On this page, times are calculated in your browser with the same Adhan library the app uses, and a usual method for that country. Makkah uses Umm al-Qura. They are a guide, not a ruling — confirm with your local masjid.

What is Qandil?

Qandil is the quiet lantern in the app. It has no eyes and no score. It sits with you on Home, in duʿā, and in reflection. The light warms a little when you have been with your worship — presence, never a rank.

Do you give to charity?

Yes. Ten percent of profits go to charity. Paying for a plan never becomes a spiritual rank — it is a capability, and a share of sadaqah from this company.

Your ibadah, your data.

Core worship tools work without an account. Location and compass stay on your device for prayer times and qibla. If you sign in, we sync only what you choose to restore — never for advertising.
